Mother Nature is making her mark on Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Rain forced Friday afternoon’s Truck Series practice and qualifying sessions to be canceled, which set the starting lineup for Friday’s race via NASCAR’s metric. Seventy percent of that metric is comprised of the finishing position for a driver in the last race, with the other 30 percent coming from the team’s position in owner points.
Tyler Ankrum — who won the last Truck Series race at Rockingham on April 18 — will lead the field to the green flag on Friday evening, with Martinsville winner Daniel Hemric starting on his outside.
Jake Garcia, Corey Heim and Grant Enfinger make up the rest of the top-five, with Kaden Honeycutt, Rajah Caruth, Layne Riggs, Chandler Smith and Jack Wood completing the top-10.
Other notable starters include Nick Sanchez in 13th, 2023 Texas winner Carson Hocevar in 19th, Toni Breidinger in 21st, defending Truck Series champion Ty Majeski in 24th and three-time Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes in 28th.
With only 32 trucks entering the race, no entries were sent home following the cancellation of qualifying.
