FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (July 7, 2025) – The Northern Arizona women’s soccer team and head coach Alan Berrios have announced the full 2025 soccer schedule. With 10 home matches set at Lumberjack Stadium.
“The team is in a great place right now, motivated and energized after a strong spring season,” head coach Alan said. “They’re eager to get started and build on the momentum they’ve gained. I believe our schedule is well balanced and will prepare us effectively as we head into conference play.”
“We’re kicking off the season with two strong Big 12 programs, both in-state rivals. These matchups will give us an early taste of the competitive intensity we can expect in conference play. We’re excited about the challenges ahead, and there’s no doubt this schedule will help us be fully prepared when it’s time for conference competition.”
NAU’s roster includes 21 returners and welcomes 12 newcomers to the program. Fans will get an early look at the ‘Jacks on Aug. 5 with the season opener exhibition match against Arizona at Lumberjack Stadium. The team follows that with another home exhibition against Arizona State on Aug. 8. Continuing the in-state matchups, NAU will face Embry Riddle on Aug. 14 then Nevada on Aug. 17.
Following four straight home matches, Northern Arizona travels to California to face UC San Diego on Aug. 21. The ‘Jacks return home briefly to host Phoenix College on Aug. 24.
The team will then head to Hawaii for back-to-back games, first against Hawaii on Aug. 28, followed by a matchup with South Dakota State on Aug. 31.
Finishing non-conference play, the Lumberjacks will hit the road to face UC Irvine on Sept. 7 and Southern Utah on Sept. 12. NAU holds a dominant 17-2-4 all-time series record against the Thunderbirds, with the two teams leveling in their 2024 matchup. The ‘Jacks will finish their red-rock journey against Utah Tech on Sept. 14. They will conclude their non-conference slate at home against Grand Canyon on Sept. 18.
“This year, our focus is on identifying our strengths and weaknesses early in the season. It’s important that we quickly determine what works best for us—both in terms of effective offensive player combinations and solid defensive setups.
We have a strong and motivated senior class that’s determined to lead us back to the NCAA tournament. We’ll rely on their leadership to help guide a talented group of returners, along with a promising freshman class.
Our goal is to build on the identity we established during the spring, and to do so early enough in the season to find our rhythm and create momentum heading into the heart of our schedule.”
Conference play begins on Sept. 26 when NAU hosts Montana. The ‘Jacks will then travel to Sacramento to battle against the 2025 Big Sky Women’s Soccer defending champions, Sacramento State on Sept. 28.
The ‘Jacks will return to Flagstaff for a matchup against Northern Colorado on Oct. 5 before visiting Portland for their Oct. 9 meeting with the Vikings. After a brief road stint, Northern Arizona will return to Lumberjack Stadium for its final two home matches, facing Weber State on Oct. 17 and Idaho State on Oct. 19. The Lumberjacks hold the Bengals strong at a 20-8-2 all-time record.
NAU wraps up the regular season on the road, visiting Eastern Washington on Oct. 24 and Idaho on Oct. 26.
Montana will host the 2025 Big Sky Tournament in Missoula from Nov. 5-9.
