Ten of Navy’s NCAA varsity sports programs were recognized for their outstanding Academic Progress Rate released today.  Only NCAA sponsored sports were eligible.

Every Division I program across the nation calculates its APR (academic progress rate) each academic year, which is similar to a report card. Recruited student-athletes each semester earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. The most recent APR scores are multi-year rates based on the scores from the 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 202-24 academic years. National aggregates are based on all teams with usable data at the time of analysis.

Men’s gymnastics, women’s golf and women’s rowing all received perfect scores.

Sports that were at least 10 points above the national average in their respective sport were: men’s basketball (24 points), men’s track & field (14 points), women’s basketball (13 points), baseball (12 points), men’s soccer (12 points), men’s cross country (12 points), water polo (12 points) and women’s rowing (12 points).

Overall, 19 of Navy’s 23 NCAA sponsored sports (indoor and outdoor track are combined for both men and women) were about the national average.
