Navy Women’s Soccer Announces Class of 2029

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women’s soccer team under the leadership of head coach Carin Gabarra is proud welcome eight newly recruited members to its program as summer training camp has reached the halfway point and the regular season lies ahead next Thursday. The Mids’ class of recruited newcomers consists of Jane Ambrozy, Jessica Black, Helen Bonner, Elizabeth Fetterman, Sona Gonzales, Faith Graziano, Katia Katsari-Hoefer and Emmalea Sidorsky.

Jane Ambrozy – Defender – Dublin, Ohio – Hilliard Davidson

Played one season at Hilliard Davidson High School before focusing her talents on ECNL play with Ohio Premier … played one additional club season with Columbus United … helped Ohio Premier advance to the ECNL Champions qualifier as a sophomore … daughter of Ron and Tina … father played baseball at Ohio State … older brother Owen (’26) plays club ice hockey at West Virginia … president of Hilliard Davidson’s senior choir

Jessica Black – Forward – Cedaredge, Colorado – Cedaredge High School
Three-sport athlete with action split over two schools as she played soccer at Delta High School, while studying and competing in track (800-, 1600-m and 300-m hurdles) and basketball (PG) at Cedaredge High School (Cedaredge does not sponsor soccer) … accomplished in all three sports, reached First Team All-State Class 3A status in soccer as a junior and senior after being named the 3A Western Slope League Player of the Year in 2024 and 2025 … leading scorer in Colorado high school soccer in 2025 with 50 goals scored, netted 130 for her career … helped Delta win the 3A Western Slope League Championship in 2024 and 2025 … suited up with the Grand Junction SC in club soccer action … named the 2025 Colorado Class 2A Track Athlete of the Year; state champion in the 300-meter hurdles and 1600-meter at the 2025 meet; state champion in the 800- and 1600-meter runs and 4×400-meter relay at the 2022 meet … holds Cedaredge HS’ school record in the 800- and 1600-meter runs and 300-meter hurdles … ran her way onto the 2022 Colorado Class 2A All-State First Team in cross country … selected to the 3A WSL All-Conference Second Team in basketball as a senior in 2024-25 … daughter of Sam and Jodi … both parents were collegiate athletes, her father played football at Elon, while her mother shot with the North Carolina State rifle team … graduated as Cedaredge’s Valedictorian

 
Helen Bonner – Forward/Defender – McLean, Virginia – Georgetown Visitation Prep School

Two-sport athlete at Georgetown Visitation Prep School; earned four letters in soccer and three for track (200-, 400- and 800-m) … named to the ISL All-League AA Division throughout all four seasons of high school … selected as the 2023 D.C. Player of the Year … recognized on All-Met Second Team as a senior in 2024 … helped Georgetown win the 2023 DC States Athletic Association Championship … honed her skills on the club circuit with Virginia Union ECNL; teammates with fellow Mid Katia Katsari-Hoefer … 2022 DCSAA 800-meter State Champion … daughter of Bob and Kris … father played football at the United States Naval Academy and graduated with the Class of 1982 … mother competed in cross country and track & field at Denison University … Vice President of her high school class

Lizzie Fetterman – Defender – Bay Village, Ohio – Bay
Two-sport athlete at Bay High School; soccer and basketball (C) … recognized on All-Greater Cleveland teams throughout her high school career with an honorable mention nod in 2021, a second team honor in 2022 and back-to-back first team awards in  2023 and 2024 … during those junior and senior seasons, she was chosen as Bay’s Defensive MVP … led the Rockets to a 22-0-2 record and the 2024 Ohio State Division III State Championship as one of three team captains; the state title was the first for Bay since 2003 … competed on the ECNL club circuit with Internationals SC and suited up in the 2024 ECNL National Selection Game … daughter of Neil and Jennifer … cousin Isabelle Hank played four seasons of soccer at Marietta College (2021-24) … Bay HS’ Class President

 
Sona Gonzales – Forward – Henderson, Nevada – Pinecrest Academy Cadence
Gonzales earned varsity letters for soccer with the Basic Academy program and flag football at Pinecrest Academy Cadence … named Basic’s Offensive MVP as a junior after recording 30 goals and 10 assists in 2023 before repeating the feat as a senior in recognition of scoring 18 goals and 12 assists … away from high school competition, she suited up with the Las Vegas Heat Surf FC club on the ECNL circuit … daughter of Jacob and Carmel

 
Faith Graziano – Midfielder – Middlebury, Connecticut – Taft School (University of Miami)

A Division I transfer, previously suiting up at the University of Miami and playing in one game in 2024 (vs. Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 5) … participated in four sports at the Taft School; soccer, basketball (PG), lacrosse (MF) and track & field (javelin) … competed in the 2023 High School All-American Game for Team East (one of 44 players nationally) … named All-Western New England Prep School Soccer League following junior and senior seasons and All-State … honed skills away from Taft with Connecticut FC club … named 2021 ECNL Northeast Conference of the Year and an ECNL All-American … 2022 Founders League Javelin Champion … honored as Taft’s Winter Athlete of the Year after setting the school’s single-season basketball scoring record as a senior with 474 points … daughter of Vinnie and Candice … older sister Amanda (’25) graduated from the Naval Academy and played four years of soccer with the Mids, appearing in 78 career games and earning 2022 All-Patriot League Second Team honors

 
Katia Katsari-Hoefer – Midfielder – Herndon, Virginia – South Lakes

Multi-sport athlete, who lettered in soccer and track (300- and 500-m) at South Lakes High School … selected to the All-Concorde District First Team and All-Northern Region Second Team as a freshman in 2021 … continued developing with the Virginia Union ECNL club team and was named as one of the U.S. ID2 Camp Top-20 Performers list for the spring of 2022 and later to the ECNL All-Conference Second Team in 2022-23 … Prep Soccer recognized her as one of Virginia’s Top-50 Forwards following her junior season … helped Virginia Union collect ECNL conference titles in 2021 and 2022 … teamed up with fellow Midshipman Helen Bonner with the Union  … daughter of Erich and Eva … father rowed four years at Georgetown, while her uncles Daniel and Michael played volleyball collegiately at Pacific and Stanford, respectively … her older brother Alexandros (’27) is a midfielder on William & Mary’s soccer team … successfully completed the Royal Conservatory of Music Certification for levels one through eight … earned her black belt in tae kwon do

Competed in soccer on the club circuit for Orlando City Youth of the ECNL and flag football (WR/S) for Orlando Science High School … selected to the 2022-23 ECNL Southeast All-Conference Second Team … participated on the FYSA ODP Florida State team during its 2023 and 2024 campaigns … team captain for Orlando Science’s flag football team as a senior in 2025 … daughter of Allan and Amanda … father played collegiate ice hockey at Palmer College of Chiropractic West … treasurer of the Girls Who Code Club at Orlando Science HS
