NCCU Cross Country Competes At Duke Tri-Meet

DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central opened the 2025 cross country season at the Duke Tri-Meet on the Duke Reclamation Pond trail on Tuesday. The Eagles ran against Duke and North Carolina A&T in the men’s 4K race and women’s 3K race.

MEN’S 4K RACE

Emmanuel Paddyfote ran a time of 12:14 to place 16th out of 31 competitors. Avan Hinkle finished 18th in 12:43.1 and Ryan Chong was 19th in 12:44.9. NCCU scored 56 points to finish ahead of North Carolina A&T, which scored 69 points. Duke was first with 15 points.

WOMEN’S 3K RACE

Alitza Dennard placed 11th out of 22 runners to lead the Eagles with a time of 11:13.1. Laila Jackson finished 14th with a time of 11:59.1. NCCU competed individually in the race.

UP NEXT

NCCU travels to Wilmington, N.C., on Saturday, Sept. 6, for the UNCW Beach Blast 5K. The men’s race starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by the women’s race at 7 p.m.
