LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – On Saturday, Nebraska volleyball welcomed back some old faces to the Bob Devaney Center.

The program hosted its first ever alumni game, giving fans a chance to see many Husker greats face off with future Nebraska legends.

Both teams were lead by two former Nebraska national champions.

Despite taking an early lead in the first set, the alumni would see their lead dwindle as the current Huskers closed the opening battle with a 25-21 to take a 1 set advantage.

The second set would not be as close. Late in the set, a kill by new Husker Teraya Sigler, two blocks by senior Rebekah Allick and a kill by senior Baylor transfer Allie Sczech would give Nebraska 2 set lead over the alums.

Set three would swing back in favor of the alums. Nebraska alums Lindsay Krause, Lauren Stivrins and Ally Batenhorst would lead the charge as the alumni team would take set three 25-17.

The final set would play out similar to the first. Alumni team jumped out to an early 8-3 lead before the current squad would ramp up play and close the deficit. Later in the set, the alum team would see a 15-12 lead shrink. The current team would tie up the final set at 15 a piece.

However, after multiple lead changes the current Huskers would hang on winning the first ever alumni game in 4 sets with a final score of 25-22.

Harper Murray would lead the way for the current Huskers with a team high 12 kills, 3 assists, and 1 block. Andi Jackson would collected 11 kills, and 3 service aces.

For the alums, Ally Batenhorst would collect 13 kills, Lindsay Krause had 12 kills and Lauren Stivrins collected 10. Former Husker Jordan Larsen led the team in digs with 9.
