Nebraska volleyball commit says Huskers are perfect fit
Malorie Boesiger has been around volleyball for as long as she can remember.”Right out of the womb! Kind of just grew up in the gym,” she joked. It’s a love she shares with her older sister, Maisie Boesiger a senior on the Nebraska volleyball team, and their mom, Christina, who coached both daughters at Norris high school.”Just me and Maisie were always just peppering in the corner,” Malorie said.”We feel so blessed and just super proud of our girls,” Christina said. “We’ve had wonderful family, coaches, and friends help shape them into who they are. We are just enjoying the ride.” Now, Malorie is following in Maisie’s footsteps.The 5-foot-10 setter committed to Nebraska last month, becoming the first verbal commit in the Huskers’ 2027 class.”She was really happy, Malorie said of her sister’s reaction. “Definitely a few tears.” “To have both of our daughters go to Nebraska is a pretty great feeling,” Christina said. “We’re thankful they’ve had this opportunity.” College coaches were officially allowed to contact and offer 2027 recruits on June 15.Malorie said she heard from around 10 schools that day—but just one day later, she committed to Nebraska.A big reason? New head coach Dani Busboom Kelly.”She’s always been a coach I’ve wanted to play for,” Malorie said. “She’s amazing, her vibrant energy made me feel so special and just made me want to go there even more.” Malorie enters her junior year already ranked No. 14 overall in the 2027 class by PrepVolleyball.com.She takes pride in her consistency and balance as an athlete saying she always tries to put her hitters in the best situation. Malorie and Maisie won’t share the court in Nebraska, but Malorie says she is excited to continue the family legacy at Nebraska. “It’s always been a dream and kind of a dream come true now,” she said. “There’s no place like Nebraska.
