The Nevada men’s basketball team has landed a commitment from Vaughn Weems, a 6’5″ wing who spent the last two seasons at North Idaho College.
The lefty – who averaged 26.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists in 35.1 minutes per game last season for the Cardinals – chose the Wolf Pack over other finalists New Mexico State, Ball State and Green Bay.
He shot 53.1 percent from the field in 2024-25, including 35.7 percent from three. He made 78.4 percent of his free throws. He had a 39-point game against Lake Region State College. As a prep senior at Federal Way in Washington state, he averaged 17.6 points and 10 rebounds but didn’t get any D-I scholarship offers.
Weems is the second offseason addition for Nevada, joining Fresno State transfer Elijah Price.
