Watch highlights of the game below.Nevada lost to New Mexico, 82-81, Friday evening in the Lobos’ 1,000th game at The Pit.The Lobos struck first and put the Pack into a three-minute scoring drought early in the first half. New Mexico stayed hot, maintaining a rhythm that Nevada couldn’t match. The Lobos maintained an airtight defense that the Pack struggled to break through, but Nevada fought back to pull within two points of New Mexico with five minutes to play in the first half.New Mexico held the lead with less than a minute to play, but Nick Davidson kept Nevada alive, sinking two free throws to tie the game and force overtime. Kobe Sanders then set the tone going into overtime with a dunk. Both teams aggressively attacked the basket and played strong defense, with the lead staying within one or two points.Nevada and New Mexico exchanged the lead 18 times throughout the match, going toe-to-toe down the stretch. The Pack held the lead with just seconds left in overtime, but the Lobos came out on top thanks to a 15-foot jumper from Nelly Junior Joseph at the buzzer.Nevada opened the second half strong, holding New Mexico scoreless for the first four minutes. Tre Coleman stepped up, doubling his point total in just six minutes. Nevada and New Mexico matched each other play for play and kept the score tight throughout the second half. Nevada significantly stepped up both their defense and overall effort in the second half, intensifying pressure on New Mexico while also taking and making more shots.The Pack struggled to find their rhythm early, but Nick Davidson and Kobe Sanders took control, combining for 23 of Nevada’s 37 points by halftime. Nevada seized its first lead in the final minutes of the half, while also holding New Mexico scoreless for three minutes. Despite a slow start, the Pack is out-shooting the Lobos, hitting 52% from the field compared to New Mexico’s 46%.
