When it comes to NASCAR racing, no name is bigger than ‘Earnhardt,’ and for good reason. Dale Earnhardt Sr. is a motorsports legend in every sense of the word. His incredible career, engaging personality, and sadly, also the tragic nature of his passing has made him a household name to this very day.

Now, the streaming giant intends to bring that story to Prime Video on May 22nd, premiering a new documentary just days before the company’s first NASCAR broadcast at the Coca-Cola 600. The four-part series is being directed by Joshua Altman and executive produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein, Christopher St. John, and Justin Wilkes of Imagine Documentaries. Also involved are Dan Lindsay and TJ Martin of Everyone Else, as well as Tim Clark and John Dahl of NASCAR Studios.

Prime Video also released a specific rundown of each episode, which follows Earnhardt’s career from the early days as an unproven rookie, through his transformation into ‘The Intimidator’ and the day he tragically lost his life on the final lap of the 2001 Daytona 500.

Episode 1 – Ironhead

“Dale rockets to stardom on NASCAR’s biggest stage with an unprecedented championship in just his second season, but a series of challenges on and off the track threatens his future. His upbringing inside North Carolina’s racing culture sheds light on what drives him, while he and upstart team owner Richard Childress aggressively chart their path back to the top.”

Episode 2 – The Intimidator

“Dale transforms into ‘The Intimidator’ as the bad boy of racing chases Richard Petty’s record of seven Winston Cup championships. As his legend grows, the intensifying demands of Dale’s career fuel tensions within the family—and the life and death stakes of racing soon hit close to home.”

Episode 3 – One Tough Customer

“Dale’s fame and fortune reach new heights as he pursues an eighth championship and an ever-elusive Daytona 500 win. But a younger crop of drivers challenge his reign, and family dynamics become more complicated when the Earnhardt kids set out to follow in their father’s footsteps on the track.”

Episode 4 – Dale

“Father and son unite on the track at the 2001 Daytona 500, leading the pack in a fateful race that becomes a turning point for the family and the entire sport of NASCAR.”

Amazon will broadcast NASCAR Cup races for the first time this year, covering five races in total. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be part of the broadcast booth and has been involved in several bits of promotional material. Prime Video is going to release documentaries on NASCAR’s Garage 56 entry at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as another documentary following Kyle Larson in his quest to complete the rare Indy 500 / Coke 600 double.

Rette Jones Racing and Kyle Steckly Ready to Make Some Noise in Music City – Speedway Digest

Practice makes perfect.

During a brief break from ASA STARS National Tour competition, Rette Jones Racing (RJR) and driver development standout Kyle Steckly are making the most of their downtime to fine-tune their Late Model program.

This week, the team prepared a pair of No. 30 Auto Parts Centres (APC) | Canusa Ford Mustangs and took to the track Thursday for a test session at Newport (Tenn.) Speedway.

Their efforts continue this weekend with a trip to Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville for the North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100, co-sanctioned by the ASA Southern Super Series and the Championship Racing Association (CRA), where they aim to secure their first win of the 2025 season.

Steckly, who broke through in ASA STARS competition last year with a thrilling win at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway en route to Rookie of the Year honors is hoping the extra seat time will help turn the tide after a challenging start to his 2025 campaign.

“We’ve had some ups and downs to start the year, but getting back to the basics and putting in the work at tracks like Newport and Nashville is what helps us improve,” said Steckly.

“This weekend is about getting better as a team, building momentum, and hopefully coming out with a strong finish — or even a win.”

When the ASA STARS National Tour resumes competition later this month, the RJR team will face a quick turnaround with two races in as many days, first at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway on May 22, followed by a return to Tennessee for the Newport 300 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch.

“The test at Newport went well,” added Steckly. “We spent the day working on several different components and adjustments. We know May is a critical month for us in ASA STARS competition, so I feel like this test was essential for us in our journey this year.

“Now, we can move to Nashville and see what we can do.”

There are no firm expectations for Nashville, but Steckly and his Mark Rette-led team are focused on making the most of the opportunity, especially against a stacked field of competitors.

“Obviously, we are going to win, that is our goal,” said Steckly. “But if the cards don’t align, we’re focused on delivering a strong finish for our partners, Auto Parts Centres and Canusa, and having some fun too.”

Team co-owner Rette echoed his driver’s outlook and emphasized the organization’s commitment to progress.

“The entire Rette Jones Racing team has put a lot of effort in this week, and I certainly appreciate it,” Rette offered. “We haven’t been where we wanted to be on the track, so we’re taking the necessary steps to put us in that position.

“The test went well at Newport, which will aid us in Nashville this weekend. We look forward to a strong and productive weekend for our No. 30 Auto Parts Centres (APC) | Canusa Ford Mustang.”

In addition to back-to-back APC United Late Model Series championships (2023 – 2024), Steckly’s accolades include seven APC United Late Model Series wins, the 2023 Grisdale Triple Crown Champion and Gold Rush 123 winner, along with multiple podium finishes in the NASCAR Canada Series.

LONG POND, Pa. (May 1, 2025) – It’s MillerTech time.

MillerTech Energy, an Ohio-based company at the forefront of premium lithium battery technology, has become the entitlement sponsor for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) race on Friday, June 20, at Pocono Raceway.

The race will be branded the MillerTech Battery 200 as the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event will be lengthened by 25 miles and 10 laps on the 2.5-mile “Tricky Triangle.” The 200-mile, 80-lap race will become the longest NCTS race ever contested at Pocono Raceway, with last season’s event previously holding that distinction among the 15 hosted at the venue.

The MillerTech Battery 200, the 14th of 25 races on the NCTS schedule, will be broadcast live on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM Radio beginning at 5 p.m. ET.

“We’re excited to team up with Pocono Raceway for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race and help power one of the most thrilling weekends in motorsports,” said Lester Miller, founder and owner of MillerTech Energy. “As a faith-driven, American-owned company, this partnership is a great fit — not just because of the racing, but because of the passionate fans and campers who bring this place to life. We’re looking forward to connecting with them and sharing the reliable power MillerTech is known for.”

This partnership marks MillerTech’s first NASCAR race entitlement, but the company is currently involved in the sport. MillerTech is sponsoring the Front Row Motorsports’ No. 4 Ford entry of NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) driver Noah Gragson at three races. One of those will be The Great American Getaway 400 presented by VISITPA.COM at Pocono Raceway on Sunday, June 22.

The company also is planning on fan engagement activations throughout the Pocono Raceway weekend. In celebration of the partnership in advance of the race weekend, both Pocono Raceway and MillerTech are offering fans limited discounts. Pocono Raceway is offering $10 off any NCTS race ticket by clicking here. MillerTech is offering a 10% off site-wide offer with the code POCONO10 when visiting www.millertechenergy.com.

“We are overjoyed to welcome MillerTech to our Pocono Family of Partners,” Pocono Raceway President Ben May said. “It’s great to add a partner like MillerTech that shares our values, including treating everyone like family and delivering quality products at a great value that are backed by warranties or guarantees. We’re looking forward to what Lester Miller and the team at MillerTech will bring to our fans during the race weekend.”

“This partnership with Pocono Raceway is a big step in taking MillerTech to the next level in motorsports,” added Dustin DelSignore, NASCAR Marketing Representative for MillerTech. “We’re building something special here — a brand that not only performs on the track but connects with fans in a real way. This weekend is just the beginning of what’s to come.”

The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will put on a one-day show that Friday with the series kicking off the weekend’s on-track action at 12:35 p.m. with the opening practice. Single-truck, one-lap qualifying will begin at 1:40 p.m. to set the field for the MillerTech Battery 200.

In addition to the NCS and NCTS, the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) will be part of the weekend with the Explore the Pocono Mountains 250 on Saturday, June 21, at 3:30 p.m.

Noah Gragson has weighed in on Christopher Bell’s critique of NASCAR’s growing emphasis on political correctness, admitting drivers must “walk that middle road” to appease sponsors. The Front Row Motorsports driver’s comments follow Bell’s praise of YouTuber Cleetus McFarland’s unfiltered persona, reigniting debates over authenticity in the sport.

Gragson, fresh off a fourth-place finish at Talladega, acknowledged the tightrope drivers navigate between self-expression and sponsor demands. Meanwhile, Bell’s assertion that NASCAR has “fallen down a path of political correctness” continues to polarize fans and insiders.

Noah Gragson Admits Balancing Act Amid NASCAR’s Sponsor Pressures

Gragson addressed Bell’s remarks during an interview with veteran reporter Claire B. Lang on May 1. “You answer to so many different partners that might have different views, you know, within the partners that you have, they have different views,” he said.

“You kind of just got to tone it down. I’m probably a little more edgier than most drivers. … There’s so many partners that you kind of got to walk that middle road.”

The 26-year-old’s candid response highlights the challenges drivers face in an era of heightened corporate scrutiny. Gragson, known for his bold personality, has tempered his approach since joining Front Row Motorsports this season. This season’s Talladega result, his first top-five finish of 2025, showcases his competitive growth, but his comments reveal the off-track balancing act.

Bell sparked the debate days earlier by praising McFarland’s unfiltered Talladega antics. The YouTuber, who drew 70,000 viewers to his ARCA race livestream, joked about “purebred Americans” loving “b**bs and turning left” on Talladega Boulevard. Bell called McFarland’s authenticity “refreshing,” contrasting it with NASCAR’s polished norms.

Christopher Bell’s Political Correctness Critique Divides NASCAR Community

Bell doubled down on his stance in multiple interviews, arguing NASCAR’s culture stifles driver individuality.

“The name of the game has kinda fallen down a path of political correctness. You have to say the right things, do the right things, act a certain way. It’s refreshing whenever you get a guy like that [McFarland],” the Joe Gibbs Racing driver told Frontstretch.

“I don’t think he’s trying to make a career out of this. Maybe one day he will — I don’t know. He definitely does it his own way, and I respect that.”

Fans reacted sharply, with some blaming sponsors for sanitizing driver personalities. Others rejected Bell’s framing.

Gragson’s measured response underscores the stakes. Sponsorships remain vital in a sport where financial backing dictates competitiveness. “I try to live every day like it’s my last,” Gragson said, hinting at his natural exuberance. “But there’s a line.”

The debate coincides with NASCAR’s push to attract younger audiences. McFarland’s viral success and Bell’s endorsement suggest raw authenticity resonates. Yet Gragson’s caution reflects the reality: Sponsor dollars still call the shots.

As the Cup Series heads to Texas, the tension between commercial interests and fan demand for personality lingers. Bell’s critique may not change policies, but spotlights a generational divide. Veterans like Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch thrive on polarizing personas, while newer drivers navigate a minefield of expectations.

For Gragson, the path forward is clear, even if narrow. “Talladega’s been good to us,” he said of his recent success. But off the track, the real race involves staying true to himself without burning bridges. In NASCAR’s evolving landscape, that middle road just got narrower.
