From The Notes:The Lead: Faced with a new roster with the same high expectations, North Carolina’s women’s tennis team will take on a new look in 2025 after graduating 1,008 singles and doubles victories after the 2024 season. The No. 6 Tar Heels will face first-time foe James Madison and well-acquainted opponent Campbell in its first matchups of the season.

Who:
James Madison & Campbell

  • Brian Kalbas enters this season with 770 career victories.
    • Kalbas owns the third-most victories all-time and is the nation’s active leader.
  • Reese Brantmeier is set to return this season. 
    • She missed most of the 2024 season due to injury.
  • Carson Tanguilig is just five wins from reaching triple digits in singles and eight wins away from a 100-win career in doubles.
  • Carolina welcomes five newcomers to the 2025 roster.
  • After missing most of the 2024 season due to injury, Reese Brantmeier is set to return to action this season.
    • Brantmeier played No. 1 singles in the 2023 national championship match versus NC State.
    • She swept the 2023 ITA Fall Singles & Doubles Championships before her early 2024 injury.

  • The Tar Heels and Dukes have never faced one another.
  • UNC has outscored the Fighting Camels 20-0 in its last three matchups.
