NFL Week 14 Climate Conditions (Fantasy Football)

Last week brought some interesting weather conditions. We experienced a few games with minor weather concerns, but it culminated in the snow game featuring the 49ers facing off against the Bills. What insights did we gain? It seems that James Cook and Josh Allen can perform regardless of the weather. Furthermore, even in adverse conditions, there remains a solid opportunity for fantasy potential!

As we approach the final week of the regular season, it’s time to check what weather patterns Mother Nature will bring us this weekend!

Early Afternoon Games

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans

MEDIUM impact.  There shouldn’t be any issues at kickoff, but rain chances will rise just before halftime. Expect only a slight drizzle, which could be bothersome if it reaches the stadium. Rain likelihood will keep increasing during the game. Winds are expected to be light, remaining in the low single digits. Temperatures will hover in the upper-50s throughout.

New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins

LOW impact.  It’s going to be an absolutely stunning day in Miami on Sunday, perfect for snowbirds. Expect sunny skies, with temperatures in the mid/upper-70s and gentle breezes.

New Orleans Saints @ New York Giants

MEDIUM impact. Prepare for a cool and breezy match on Sunday between the Saints and Giants. Wind speeds will be sustained in the low teens, with gusts reaching 20-25 mph. Temperatures are expected to be in the high-40s to low-50s. The kicking game will be the most affected, with minor impacts on passing (though if you’re playing Drew Lock, wind might not concern you). You might want to consider switching your kicker to another available option.

Carolina Panthers @ Philadelphia Eagles

LOW impact. It will be a crisp day in Philly, featuring light winds and no rainfall. Sounds pleasant! Temperatures will be in the low-50s with single-digit winds and mostly cloudy skies, clearing to sunny as the game progresses. Start your usual players.

Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers

MEDIUM impact. What a difference being across state lines makes! While Philly is set for nice weather, Pittsburgh will be facing gusty conditions that could pose challenges for kickers and deep passes. Sustained winds will be in the low teens and gusts could hit mid-20s. I wouldn’t bench Chris Boswell unless you have a comparable option who can match his performance. Just keep expectations reasonable for how many long kicks he can make.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

LOW impact. Outdoor games in Florida are ideal for December. Expect high temperatures in the mid-70s (!) with gentle breezes and sunny weather. Start all your star players.

Afternoon Games

Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers

LOW impact. The afternoon will be overall pleasant for the game. High temperatures will reach the upper-60s with light winds and no rain in sight.

Sunday Night Game

Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs

LOW impact. It’s set to be a chilly night in KC with temperatures dropping to the low-40s during the game, but wind speeds will remain low and there won’t be any precipitation. This is far less thrilling compared to last week’s Sunday night showdown.

Weather is ever-changing and can shift quickly! Keep an eye on your local weather updates leading up to kickoff for any significant changes.  Best of luck!
