Was the Thursday night game a harbinger of the weekend to come? We watched the 49ers and the Rams have fairly limited offense all game with rainy conditions. My condolences out to all the Cooper Kupp managers out there. But hey, it is PLAYOFF TIME, and if you made it, congratulations! If you didn’t make it, thanks for the dedication to come back to a Fantasy Football article about weather; you’re the true champion here.

There’s a lot to unpack this week, so let’s not waste any time and get to it!

Early Afternoon Games

Kansas City Chiefs @ Cleveland Browns

HIGH impact.  It’s shaping up to be a wet mess in Cleveland. It’ll be creeping above freezing during the game, so I’m not expecting snow. Primarily expecting rain, along with some mixed precipitation. Rain chances are at 90% currently. Additionally, winds will be sustained in the low teens. Downgrade all kicking, passing, and receiving options; we’ve seen some spectacular things from Jameis Winston so far, but overcoming these conditions would be something else. High temperatures will be in the low-40s during game time.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennesee Titans

HIGH impact. Another game with high chances of rain and high winds. There’s a 90% chance of rain during game time. Similar to the Chiefs and Browns, expect impacts on almost all players. I don’t think there’s a world where you can sit Joe Burrow or Ja’Marr Chase, but maybe temper expectations for them in these conditions. Winds will be in the low teens, gusting up to the low-20s, with temperatures in the mid-50s.

Baltimore Ravens @ New York Giants

MEDIUM impact. Not expecting any rain or anything during this game, so that’s good. It is, however, going to be a chilly game (that’s not good).  High temps will be in the upper-30s with winds in the single digits. Those numbers combined will result in a wind chill that’s in the mid-20s to upper-30s range. I don’t think you sit any of your usual players for temperature; just something to be aware of. Of course, the cold does not impact Derrick Henry.

Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers

MEDIUM impact. There is a small chance of rain during the game (around 40%). However, winds will be fairly light and in the single digits. Just keep an eye on the pre-game reports and see how everything is shaping up, but I don’t think there’s much to worry about.

New York Jets @ Jacksonville Jaguars

LOW impact. How on earth did the Jets get back-to-back away games in Florida in December? Well, while it may be cold and wet up north, down south, it’s warm and (on Sunday) a little windy. Expect temps in the mid-70s with winds in the low teens gusting up to the high teens. If anything, if you are starting either kicker, then you should flex. Aside from that, start all your studs.

Afternoon Games

Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos

MEDIUM impact. A windy game is setting up in Denver. Sustained winds will be in the high teens with gusts up to the low-30s(!). I think the super deep shots from Anthony Richardson will be impacted, and Wil Lutz, along with Matt Gay, will be hard to trust from a distance.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Philadelphia Eagles

LOW impact. It’s looking like a nice afternoon in Philly, with winds in the single digits and temperatures in the low-40s. Start all your studs.

Sunday Night Game

Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks

LOW impact. It’s raining on Saturday and Monday, but Sunday night looks to have beaten the odds and will not have rain. Winds will also be relatively light and in the single digits.

Weather is a dynamic thing and can change! Keep an eye on your local weather source leading up to kickoff to see if anything changes significantly.  Good luck!
