NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) was supposed to be this amazing opportunity to further the college game and give college students access to money that they were helping provide for their universities. They could generate revenue based on their performance and success on the field. However, it's turned into the Wild Wild West. It's becoming even more and more chaotic until reform comes. This isn't to say that college athletes shouldn't be paid, the idea in a vacuum was awesome, but it's slowly been twisted, and scum bags are finding their way into the money-making opportunities.One of those guys, Noah Reisenfeld, EVP of NIL and Business Development for YMAPAA Sports, claims to run college football and is doing it for the wrong reasons. Reisenfeld, an NIL agent representing multiple athletes, took to X (former Twitter) this week to slam fans and claim that he can steer athletes away from universities if he doesn't like their fanbase. I’m here to stay.”This is alarming in so many ways and only gives more credence to Luke Fickell's and Wisconsin's standoff with Xavier Lucas. While this agent is not talking about Lucas or even dealing with that situation, it's another example of how twisted the NIL has gotten. Lucas supposedly signed a new NIL deal with Wisconsin, only to jump into the portal a few days later. Reports suggest an agent recruited him into the portal to go to Miami, and it's an absolute mess. If guys like Rosenfield are running college football, there has to be some reform to the process of the NIL. Fickell may end up being at the forefront of the reform if Lucas does take Wisconsin to court over the block of his transfer.
