COLUMBIA — After Nixa basketball kept top-ranked Oak Park within striking distance for much of the first half, the Northmen pulled away in the second, sending the Eagles to a third-place game.Nixa lost 61-50 to Oak Park in a Missouri Class 6 semifinal matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Mizzou Arena in Columbia. The Eagles will conclude their season against Lafayette at 10 a.m. on Thursday.This will be Nixa’s first third-place game appearance since 2002 when it finished third in the state. The Eagles have finished as state runner-ups in their last two appearances semifinal appearances.Sophomore standout Adam McKnight turned in a solid performance for the Eagles, showcasing a high-motor he’s become known for in his first two years with the team.
