The New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of an upload of images of child exploitation or abuse of a child, and an investigation found that Cringoli was the lead suspect, McDonald said.
Around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday detectives executed a search warrant at Cringoli’s home and seized several electronic devices that were found to hold many images depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child, according to the prosecutor.
Cringoli was remanded to the Somerset County Jail pending a Superior Court detention hearing.
The investigation is ongoing.
