JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Athletics capped a championship fall season with an impressive semester in the classroom as the Ospreys earned a 3.53 department-wide grade point average (GPA). It’s the 27th-straight semester that UNF Athletics has recorded better than a 3.0 department GPA. “Everyone is included in the academic success of our student-athletes,” Assistant AD for the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence Tara Sunquist said. “Special thanks to the coaches who recruit amazing students, athletes and most importantly, people. I also want to extend my gratitude to Jessica Spangler, Carrie Driscoll and Lauren Oakes for their exceptional contributions to the culture of care and academic success of our student-athletes. We are looking forward to 2025 and the continued success of our athletic department.”UNF’s 3.53 GPA is just 0.04 points off from the department’s record set during the 2020 COVID-impacted spring semester. All of UNF’s athletic programs achieved at least a 3.34 GPA, with men’s tennis pacing all programs with a 3.83 mark. The women’s golf program was just behind at 3.801. Additionally, North Florida men’s basketball marked the most improved team at 3.56. Overall department GPA: 3.53
