Many of those competing wore festive costumes, some wearing beads and scarves around their necks. Some celebrated St. Patrick’s Day early in their best greens and shamrocks.
PETOSKEY — Warm temperatures and sunny skies were one of the highlights of another successful Mardi Gras on Saturday at Nub’s Nob.The day featured an at-capacity Soaker Cup, where skiers and boarders attempted to glide across “Lake Nubs” in front of a cheering crowd.
To account for the surplus of competitors, the starting line was moved farther down the hill than usual, making it harder for people to get up to speed before crossing the pool of cold water.
