TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men’s track & field’s Terrance O’Bannon was named this week’s GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
O’Bannon posted the fastest time in the 60m dash in the Missouri Valley this season in helping lead the Sycamores to the Coughlan-Malloy Cup win this past weekend against Illinois State.
The junior sprinter led the way going 6.69 in the preliminaries to advance to the meet final in the 60m dash. He followed up by going 6.60 to take the title, setting a new Coughlan-Malloy meet record breaking the mark he set last season (6.66) in the process. He also topped the previous Horton Field House Facility record by .07 seconds that was established back in 2001.
O’Bannon’s time is the fastest in the Great Lakes Region to date this season and is the 10th-fastest in the NCAA through the Indoor season. It also marked the second-fastest time in school history trailing only JaVaughn Moore’s time of 6.56 set back in 2023.
The GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2024-25 athletic season.
