Monday girls basketball: Twinsburg, Woodridge notch victories

  • TWINSBURG 54, KENT ROOSEVELT 45: Guard Taylor Dye led the host Tigers to victory with 17 points, four assists and five rebounds. Christian Fletcher and Jaci Hutton added 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Twinsburg (7-2). Julia Nash also scored 17 points in a losing effort for Kent Roosevelt (8-5).
  • WOODRIDGE 54, FIRESTONE 28: Megan Woods scored 17 points and the Bulldogs picked up their fourth win in 12 games. Kennedy Whiting scored 17 points for the Falcons (3-6).

Monday boys bowling: Highland, Woodridge earn league wins

  • HIGHLAND 2,234, TALLMADGE 2,002: Senior Gabe Kasper rolled a two-game high series of 404 to lead the Hornets to a Suburban League win Monday at AMF Riviera Lanes in Fairlawn. Senior Tyler Oboy was second in scoring for Highland with games of 167 and 175 for a 342 series.
  • WOODRIDGE 2,280, COVENTRY 2,252: At Clutch Lanes, Woodridge came back after trailing the first game by 121 pins to post a Metro League win and improve to 5-2 overall. The Bulldogs rallied in the second game 881-756 to go up by four pins heading into the team baker games. There, Woodridge tallied 592 pins to 568 for Coventry (5-2) to win the match by 28 pins. Xavier Moore led Woodridge with the high game (193) and series (364).
