All rights reserved.Baumgartner said he looks forward to his return to Ski Brule.Baumgartner gave the kids pointers and shared inspiration from his journey.He said for young people, getting into sports, like snowboarding, is important.“When we’re young and we’re doing these sports like this it teaches them to set goals, to dream big, all these things, to fight through adversity when it doesn’t go your way so that you can get stronger and build off that and build your character,” Baumgartner said.Ski Brule will have another “Ride with Nick” event on Tuesday.“I’ve made so many amazing memories here over the years, to be a little part of that for so many other people is so cool. To have it come full circle and be able to ride with these kids, stoke them out, get them excited, and get them out of their comfort zone a little bit,” Baumgartner said.“Hopefully you can find some inspiration in there and some motivation to go and have as much fun as you can,” Baumgartner said. “You get one shot on this earth man, and I spend a lot of it on my snowboard because I like having fun.”Baumgartner recently released a book, which he hopes will inspire others.Four-time Olympian Nick Baumgartner has been hosting “Ride with Nick” events for around 20 years, ever since he went pro.IRON RIVER, Mich. (WLUC) – On Sunday in Iron River, kids got the chance to snowboard with an Olympic Gold Medalist at Ski Brule.“I got a very full month coming up of training and competing and guess what?” Baumgartner asked. “The best part of every trip is coming back home, here to the Upper Peninsula.”He said getting to share his love of the sport with others is one of the best parts of being an Olympian.
