Winnacunnet basketball player Christian Chartier finished second with 169 votes.

York County College presents the Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week.

Toriello won the online poll by receiving more than 32% of the online votes with 220 to earn girls Athlete of the Week. St. Thomas Aquinas basketball player Genna Bolduc finished second with 190 votes.

The weekly polls runs each Monday through midnight Thursday, and can be found at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports. The honors are presented by York County Community College.Exeter hockey player Maddy Mann had 145 votes, Oyster River basketball player Olivia Andersen had 93 votes and Bobcats basketball player Vivian O’Quinn had 38 votes, to round out the five nominees, respectively.

Beyer, a junior, scored the eventual game-winning goal as Oyster River beat Keene, 2-1, in the championship game of the Heuchling & Swift Memorial Classic.”Talon stands out offensively and defensively,” Oyster River head coach Peter Harwood said. “He is tough to play against along the boards, he is a creative offensive player and he is one of our teams best backcheckers. Talon always brings his best effort and is a perfect role model for younger players in our program.”

St. Thomas Aquinas junior Emma Toriello was named MVP of the Bobcat Holiday Classic after Saturday's win over Oyster River in the championship game.

“Fierce competitor on both ends of the court and one of the fastest players in the division,” STA head coach Kevin Giannino said. “Emma had another outstanding week of basketball capturing the well deserved MVP award in our recent tournament championship. She plays the game with great determination and confidence, and it’s been fun watching her hard work pay dividends for her as well as the team. Proud of both Emma and Genna Bolduc for finishing one and two in the voting this week.”Toriello, a junior, scored 57 points in three games and was named the MVP of the 13th annual Bobcat Holiday Classic. Toriello scored 21 points against Oyster River in Saturday’s championship game. She scored a team-high 17 points against Keene on Friday, and 19 points against Spaulding on Thursday.

The Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week winners for Dec. 23-28 are Oyster River High School boys hockey player Talon Beyer and St. Thomas Aquinas High School girl basketball player Emma Toriello.Dover basketball player Yavier Morales-Perez had 157 votes, Oyster River basketball player Matthew Jernigan had 84 votes and Bobcats’ basketball player Brendan Kirby had 44 votes, to round out the top five nominees, respectively.
