Rochester, N.Y. — The wrestling team from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford made their way to Rochester on Saturday to participate in the challenging RIT Invitational. The Panthers were unable to secure a podium position, finishing in 14th place with a total of 16.0 team points.

D.J. Slovick earned the highest points for the Panthers, concluding with 5.0 in the 174-pound category. After suffering a pin in his first matchup, Slovick surged ahead against his next two challengers, winning by a 20-5 tech fall in the second consolation round, followed by a pin in the third round after 2:01.

Cael Dailey and Cameron Carter-Green also clinched two victories each. At the 125-pound weight class, Dailey lost his initial match but rebounded with a pin in the consolation round. He then captured a thrilling 7-4 sudden victory match in the second consolation round before losing by a 7-3 decision to conclude his day. Similarly, Carter-Green faced a defeat in his first bout but fought back to achieve an 18-3 tech fall victory followed by an 8-5 decision win. His competition was cut short due to an injury in the fourth round.

Ray Worsen, Nik Fegert, and Cade Stern all contributed with victories by pin in their respective weight categories.

The Panthers will be back in action next Saturday as they compete in a Trimeet hosted by Alfred State. They will face the hosts and SUNY Brockport in a series of dual matches, starting at 12:00 p.m.
