COLUMBUS, Ohio – The College Gymnastics Association announced its weekly men’s gymnastics awards on Wednesday. Junior Parker Thackston was named CGA Specialist of the Week for the first time this season and third time in his career. He was also named Big Ten Specialist of the Week earlier this week.
Thackston captured his sixth pommel horse title of the season on Saturday at Michigan. Thackston earned a season-best score of 15.050, becoming only the second gymnast in the country this season to earn a 15.000 or better on the event. He beat the runner-up by 0.450. Thackston also led off the Buckeye lineup on high bar. This season, Thackston ranks second in the country on pommel horse.
Ohio State hosts Illinois in the regular season finale on Tuesday, March 25 at 4 p.m. ET. Admission and parking are free.
