Along with all of the previously listed activities, the event will also feature a youth sports parade beginning at noon. Alicia Walters, the assistant director of Pelham Parks and Rec, outlined what makes Pelham Palooza special.
“Pelham Palooza is one of Pelham’s largest and most exciting events—fun for all ages,” Walters said. “It’s the ultimate community festival, bringing together live music, delicious food, local vendors and activities for the whole family. Held annually at Pelham City Park, this free event captures the spirit of the city with a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. From unique artisan booths to hands-on activities and performances, there’s truly something for everyone.”
Pelham Palooza will also feature a kids zone with a variety of activities, including a climbing rock wall, knockerball, a dunk tank, face painting, bounce houses, balloon artists and a craft tent.
“All activities are free, and the whole event is designed to be a fun, family-friendly celebration in the park,” Walters said.
Walters also further described what audiences can expect from Lady + The Divines and Sweet Tea Trio.
“Lady + The Divines formed in 2012 with the goal of entertaining audiences with a mix of music from the ‘80s and ‘90s, plus hits from other decades—all performed with their own creative twist,” Walters said. “Their high-energy sets and unique medleys make them anything but a typical cover band. Sweet Tea Trio brings a mix of originals and crowd-favorite covers, blending classic rock, current country and even some gospel moments. Their engaging, high-energy style makes them a favorite for all age groups.”
Walters said that this year’s vendor marketplace offers more than 50 vendors selling everything from handmade crafts and artwork to boutique-style shopping. Pelham Parks and Rec began accepting vendor applications in February for the event.
“(We) were thrilled with the level of interest—not only from local creators, but also from vendors traveling in from nearby areas,” Walters said. “Vendor spots filled up quickly, and we’re excited for attendees to explore such a diverse and creative selection of booths.”
Walters also emphasized the importance of Pelham’s local organizations and businesses being involved in Pelham Palooza.
“Pelham is a strong and supportive community, and events like (Pelham) Palooza give local organizations and businesses a platform to connect with residents,” Walters said. “Their participation adds so much value to the event and gives them an opportunity to showcase what they do best. We’re proud to provide a space for the community to come together, both businesses and residents alike. We’re also appreciative to have city leadership that believes in the value of community and supports programming like Pelham Palooza for our residents.”
Walters said that the youth sports parade is one of the biggest highlights of the fun-filled day.
“At noon, our youth spring sports teams and coaches will parade through the park, showing off their team spirit with hand-made banners,” Walters said. “It’s always a fun and high-energy moment that brings families together and celebrates the young athletes in our community. Banners will be judged, and winning teams will be rewarded with popsicles—a small but fun way to recognize their creativity and enthusiasm. We’re so grateful to our volunteer coaches and parents who help make the Pelham Youth Sports program such a success.”
