The tournament is held in Davos, Switzerland, from December 26 to 31, 2025. The U.S. Collegiate Select team will be comprised of 25 student-athletes representing each NCAA Division I conference.
“It’s an honor to be on the inaugural staff of the US Collegiate Selects and to be competing in such a prestigious tournament,” commented Gadowsky. “The Spengler Cup will provide an incredible experience for the players selected and will be great for the continued exposure of college hockey outside of the United States.”
The full roster will be announced at a later date, and Mike Souza (UNH) and Jason Lammers (Niagara) will serve as assistant coaches.

Host HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Fribourg-Gotteron, Sparta Praha and IFK Helsinki will also compete.
Gadowsky is entering his 14th season with the Nittany Lions after helping lead the team to its first Frozen Four last season. Gadowsky has a 231-200-32 record with Penn State and has won 400 games as an NCAA Division I head coach, ranking 29th all-time.
Gadowsky says expectations are always there for a Penn State team, regardless of last season’s results.
“We did not have these expectations when you start from a club program,” said Gadowsky. “Well, I can tell you it’s better to have the expectations than not. So this is where everybody wants to go.”
