Pepperdine Finishes Second in 2024-25 DI-AAA ADA All-Sports Trophy Standings
MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine University was named the 2024-25 Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association All-Sports Trophy runner-up, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics on Wednesday.
Pepperdine’s 212.00 points were second to UC Santa Barbara, which won its first DI-AAA ADA trophy with 235.00 points. Providence (202.50 points), Creighton (198.00 points) and Denver (174.50 points) rounded out the top five.
The DI-AAA ADA All-Sports Trophy is awarded to the institution that has the highest point total in all sports in which at least 25% of the eligible I-AAA membership sponsor the given sport. Division I-AAA member institutions consist of Division I schools that do not sponsor football. Additional annual recognition is given to the member institutions with the highest finish in 21 sports: baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, plus women’s volleyball.
Pepperdine finished atop the DI-AAA ADA All-Sports standings in men’s and women’s tennis, plus men’s golf. All three spring sports put together solid seasons: The men’s golf team placed 12th at the NCAA Championships, while the men’s and women’s tennis teams made the second round of the NCAA Tournament and finished in the year-end top-25 rankings.
All told, Pepperdine’s second-place standing was an improvement over last year’s seventh-place finish. The Waves have won the Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association All-Sports Trophy five times in department history.
