National team coach Nino Sinco said wants the archers to refine their techniques in their first tournament of 2025.The Philippines will be represented by Pia and Abby Bidaure, Jonathan Reaport, Jason Feliciano, and Renna Noel in recurve while Amaya Paz-Cojuangco and Alon Jucutan will compete in the compound.“For me, probably people will say I’m old school, but for me, what I look for in an archer first is initiative.”“One factor I see that we need to improve on is long-term training. I don’t know if it’s fair to do so because the events are different, the eras are different but in the past, the training would go for about six months before the competitions,” Sinco said. “Well, for me personally, and I’m talking just from my own view as a coach, I think they should look at getting better scores as they go along at this point because it’s still early in the season and build up towards the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games,” Sinco said. The Philippine national archery team seeks improvement as it competes in the Asia Cup-World Ranking Tournament Stage 1 from 18 to 22 February in Bangkok.Sinco hopes to have a long preparation time, especially with the 33rd SEA Games slated from 9 to 20 December in Thailand.
