Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, which in August began offering customized spice levels in its wings, continued promoting the new lineup with a name, image, and likeness deal with college football players.
Popeyes, a division of Toronto-based Restaurant Brands International Inc., started its wing redo with a “Better Wings, Better Mayfield” campaign in partnership with quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Popeyes this week expanded the promotion to college athletes with the NIL partnerships. These athletes are players who rose from back-ups in 2024 to starters in 2025.
Each Popeyes NIL athlete received an individualized digital promo code for Popeyes Rewards Members to get 12 Wings for $12.
Customers who redeemed the promo codes help the athletes climb the leaderboard. The athlete with the most fan participation (i.e. most code redemptions) will score a catered tailgate celebration at the end of the season.
