HERKIMER — Who would win in a fight between Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog? More than 150 students from across Central New York were at Herkimer College on Saturday to decide that outcome — as well as, possibly, their future careers.
Students from 11 high schools across four counties participated in the second annual Herkimer Generals Esports Invitational, a video game tournament that was part fun and part esports advocacy. The college launched an Esports Management degree program in 2023 and has a championship esports team.
