FAIRFAX, Va. — Jeremiah Price’s second-place finish at 157 pounds was the highlight of six top-six placements for App State Wrestling at the A Better Way Athletics Open Patriot Open on Sunday.
 
Price achieved victory in his first three contests to secure a spot in the 157 final, but ultimately fell 11-10 to Brown’s Blake Saito. Two pins from true freshman heavyweight Stephan Monchery helped him advance to the semifinals, where he concluded his day in fourth place.
 
Joe Zovistoski secured a win in his fifth-place match at 174 pounds, wrapping up a strong 4-1 performance, while Colby McBride (125 pounds), Aldo Hernandez (141 pounds), and Kai O’Dell (149 pounds) all placed sixth.
 
Price reached the final after winning against AJ Rodrigues 8-2, Lorenzo Alston 7-0, and Caden Bellis by an 11-3 major decision.
 
The 2024-25 season is sponsored by Hungry Howie’s and Penn Station. App State begins its SoCon schedule Thursday with a dual match at VMI.
