MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Eight-year-old Raegan Anderson is in the running for Sports Illustrated Youth Athlete of the Year.

Anderson is now competing to raise money for cancer research.

“Let people see me, not just be a shadow in the dark,” Anderson said. “I don’t like being the munchkin. I like being someone who stands out.”

The voting for Sports Illustrated Youth Athlete of the Year ends Thursday, Sept. 4.
