DAYTON – Ahead of its highly anticipated matchups in this year’s Tru by Hilton Beavercreek Invitational, Wright State volleyball has announced that the tournament will be played inside the Nutter Center when Ohio State, Ohio and Pittsburgh come to campus for action September 12-14.

The move marks the first time collegiate volleyball has been played in the Nutter Center since Wright State hosted the 1991 National Invitational Volleyball Championship, with Notre Dame and Kentucky playing in the final. The Raiders also played four matches in the Nutter Center as part of that same NIVC tournament, taking on Cal State Northridge, Cornell, Kentucky and UAB that November.

The Nutter Center has also served as the longtime host of the OHSAA State Volleyball Tournament each November.

“NCAA Volleyball continues to grow in popularity, with record-setting crowds across the country,” head coach Travers Green said. “For the past few years, we’ve been working behind the scenes to provide our student-athletes, program and university the opportunity to pursue an attendance record of our own. I want to thank everyone who has supported—or will support—our efforts to play in the Nutter Center,” Green added. “It takes a tremendous amount of collaboration and hard work to bring this vision to life. We’re excited to deliver a premier event for our community and to showcase elite-level volleyball.”
