PASADENA, Calif.— The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Department and California Golden Gloves invite the public to the California State Boxing Tournament on April 12-13, 2025, at Victory Park Recreation Center, 2575 Paloma St., Pasadena, CA 91107. The competition begins at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 13. Winners from last month’s Southern California Regional Tournament will enter the ring once again to compete for a state championship belt.
This prestigious tournament provides a platform for amateur boxers to showcase their skills, with top-level male and female competitors, ages 18 and older, from across California. The California Golden Gloves has a rich history of launching the careers of legendary fighters, including Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Oscar de la Hoya, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. These past national champions began their journeys in local Golden Gloves tournaments, and many of today’s rising stars are expected to follow in their footsteps.
General admission tickets are available for purchase at the door on tournament days only. Admission is $25 for adults and $10 for ages 10 and under.
Champions will advance to represent the state of California at the National Tournament of Champions in Tulsa, Oklahoma in May.
