His love of sports inspired his grandkids and great-grandkids to excel in their chosen activity – skiing, figure skating, wrestling, rugby, football, basketball, volleyball and BMX racing. A true joy of Dick’s life was watching them compete. A memorial service will be held at10:30am on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Concordia Village Chapel, Springfield, Illinois with visitation starting at 9:30 am. A reception will follow the services. Richard is an army veteran and will be interred at Camp Butler National Cemetery – Springfield, Illinois. Warsinske passed away peacefully at home in Springfield, Illinois on January 30, 2025 after 92 years of living and creating a legacy that marked his time on this earth. He was born on June 13, 1932 to Harold F. and Maurine D. Warsinske in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He has joined his father, mother and sister – Mary L. Rodencal (John) in heaven. Richard’s lasting legacy is his 70 year marriage to Patricia Casberg Warsinske (91 years old), coupled with his four children: Joseph (Phyllis), Maureen (Douglas) Bluhm, Jeffrey (Melody) and James. He filled them with love, integrity and a quiet confidence. His children carry on this legacy through their service to assist others, i.e. motorcycle rides to raise funds for Children’s Hospitals, tutoring kids with Dyslexia and fundraising for Masonic charities.Richard’s family would like to give a special thank you to Brightstar Care and Gentiva Hospice Care for their loving guidance and care for Dick during his final days. May GOD bless you!Richard valued hard work and adventures. He regularly created memorable experiences for his children, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was a cub scout Pack leader, arranged hunting parties with his sons and grandsons, participated in regular family ski outings and visits to dude ranches.His legacy also encompasses improving the lives of others through his generous actions to raise funds for the Shriners Children Hospitals as a part of the Zor ‘Funsters’ unit, a group of gregarious clowns that participated in parades throughout Wisconsin.
