Rick Brunson molded Jalen Brunson into a Knicks ‘killer’

Jalen Brunson had just won another game at Stevenson in Illinois, a tiny notch in a stellar high school career that launched the point guard into international acclaim.

But his father, on this particular night, was wholly unimpressed. The opponent was underwhelming. As Rick Brunson described in an interview with The Post, “He was playing against five guys that look like you.”

“Jalen came out bulls–ting, f–king around,” Rick says. “He didn’t play hard. He didn’t compete.”

The punishment, as often doled out by Rick, was more basketball.
