Robert N.” Bobby” DiPompo (1937-2025)

FARMINGTONRobert N.” Bobby” DiPompo, 88, a lifelong resident of Jay, passed away, Sunday, April 27th at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 15, 1937, in Riley, Maine, the son of Rocco and Margaret (Record) DiPompo. He was a 1956 graduate of Jay High School. On January 1, 1958, in Chesterville, he married Glenda Yeaton of Fayette. He worked at International Paper Company all his life, retiring in 1984.

He was the owner and operator of Riverside Kwik Stop in Jay, where you would often see him out mowing the lawns and socializing with his customers. He enjoyed Nascar, hunting, car shopping, vacationing in Florida and being outdoors. Bobby loved stock car racing and raced cars #66, #00 and #43 for 50 years at Oxford Plains Speedway and Wiscasset Speedway. Bob was the first to win the first 100 lap race in 1965 at Oxford Plains. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Glenda DiPompo, children, Nelson DiPompo (Jane),  Daniel DiPompo (Darlene), Karen Quirrion (Andy), and Deana LeSuer (Don), all of Jay, 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Brittany, Ashlee, Emma, Devon, Diavana and Hunter, 5 great-grandchildren, Rebel, Parker, Luca, Henry, and Jami, sisters, Rita Hewett and Rosine Dolinski, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Quido “Rick”, Louis, and Tony DiPompo, infant siblings, John and Lina DiPompo and his sister, Angie Holman. Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Friday, May 2nd at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM, on Thursday, May 1st at the funeral home.
