Rock Bridge boys wrestling had a strong performance on Saturday, finishing in third-place at the Orchard Farm Invitational in St. Charles with a final score of 131.5.

120-pound Emmanual Trotter defeated Principia’s Lee Furnace III 5-0 by major decision to take home the gold.

Rock Bridge’s Wyatt Fisher (138) defeated St. Pius X’s Reid Menke 6-2 by major decision to finish at the top of his weight class.

Kadyn Smith (144) was the final first-place finisher for the Bruins, defeating Carterville’s Devin Jennings by fall.

The Bruins continue action in the Kansas City Stampede at 9 a.m. Friday in Kansas City.

Hickman finishes 4th at Noel Tournament

Hickman girls wrestling finished in fourth-place with a score of 144 at the Noel ‘Tough as Nails’ Women’s Tournament in Rolla.

Riley Hofeditz (115) defeated Eldon’s Tiara Stanley by fall to secure first-place in her weight class.

Ceejae Hart (170) won by fall over Central’s Ariel Thomas to give the Kewpies a second top finish.

Hickman girls wrestling next competes in the Lady Mustangs Christmas Clash on Friday in Eldon.

Battle has rough outing at Wentzville Liberty Invitational

Battle boys wrestling couldn’t find its groove at the Wentzville Liberty Invitational in Wentzville, finishing in 26th place out of 30 teams.

The Spartans next compete against Hallsville at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Missouri Military Academy in Mexico.

Tolton struggles at Missouri Duals

Tolton boys wrestling struggled to find its rhythm at the Missouri Duals tournament in Jefferson City, finishing 11th out of 12 teams.

The Trailblazers defeated Eureka 45-30 to prevent a last-place finish. 

Tolton next faces Kirksville and Macon at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Kirksville.

Rock Bridge, Hickman, Tolton swim teams compete in BlueMO Invite

The Rock Bridge, Hickman and Tolton swim teams competed in the BlueMO Invite in Blue Springs. The Bruins found the most success out of the trio of schools, finishing third-place out of 11 teams with a score of 277.

Rock Bridge finished behind only Blue Springs South, which scored 363.5 points and Park Hill, with 279 points.

The Bruins kicked off the event with a strong performance, claiming first-place in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Sarah Miner, Madison Shryock, Helen Hedlund and Marlowe Weis delivered an impressive finish, completing the race in one minute, 57.22 seconds.

Miner secured top-three finishes in all four of her events. After contributing to the first-place medley relay, she claimed second-place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:20.82. Her teammate, Shryock, was the only swimmer to outpace her, clocking in at 2:15.16.

Miner and Shryock kept the momentum going in the 500 freestyle, with Miner taking first-place in 5:13.40 and Shryock close behind in second with a time of 5:15.30.

Hickman’s Amelia Coy finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 30.94 and took third in the 500 freestyle (5:20.01) behind Miner and Shryock. Coy’s efforts contributed to Hickman securing sixth-place overall for the weekend.

Sophia Stoops was one of the bright spots for Tolton, leading the Trailblazers to two podium finishes. Stoops excelled in the 100 butterfly, securing first-place with a time of 1:03.81. Tolton’s second podium finish came in the final event of the day, the 400 freestyle relay, where Stoops teamed up with Paige Bloomer, Maddie Arroyo and Kayla Perone to claim second-place with a time of 3:52.72.

Rock Bridge, Hickman and Tolton girls swim next compete in the Blue Springs Dual on Dec. 27 in Blue Springs.
