ATLANTA, GA. (March 22, 2025) – The Tufts University women’s outdoor track and field team finished the Emory Spring Break Classic strong as they performed well all around the complex on Saturday.Another rookie with a strong performance in the field was first year Mia Kurtz. She took second place in her discus debut with a mark of 41.41m. First year Natalie Germanov kept the exceptional day by the Jumbos rookies going with a third place finish in the pole vault, finishing with a 3.45m. She also set a new personal best in the 200m dash with a 28.51.–JUMBOS–The Jumbos will return to Medford to host the Tufts University Snowflake Classic on the Ellis Oval and Zimmerman Field on Saturday, March 29.
On the track, junior Vivian Lau took home a strong fourth place finish in the 1500m Open run with a personal best time of 5:09.62. Sophomore Simisola Lawal made it a strong finish to the day with a third place finish in the 100m dash. The sprinter finished with a personal best time of 12.31, and earlier in the day set a personal best time in the 200m dash with a 25.45.Leading off the day was the reigning 2025 NCAA Division III National Triple Jump Champion Elysse Cumberland. The first year kept her hot season going in the fresh air as she leapt to second place in the long jump. Her mark of 5.84m set a new personal best for the rookie in the long jump.
