All-Scholastics for the 2024-25 winter season are right around the corner, but before that, we need some assistance from our readers.
Vote for our High School Girls Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Reader votes will make up 20% of the tally, with our four staff reporters (Eric McHugh, Jason Snow, Ryan Vermette and Chris McDaniel) making up the rest of the vote.This senior ran on the winning 4x800m relay at the Meet of Champions (9:20.97). That team also placed sixth at New Englands (9:33.86) and was second at Div. 1 states (9:38.24). She was third in the 600m at Div. 1 states (1:36.40) but did not run that event at the MOC to rest for the relay.This senior was the Patriot League Fisher Division MVP. She was seventh in the shot put at the Meet of Champions (36-8.5) and was runner-up in the event at Div. 3 states (37-0). She also won the Patriot League title with a throw of 38-6. Undefeated in the league for three winter seasons in the shot put.

Annaliese Aguilar, Milton
This junior, who competes for the Quincy/North Quincy co-op team, finished fourth in the 600m at the New England championships in 1:36.51; that was the best finish of any local athlete there. She was the 600m Div. 2 state champ (1:37.79) and placed ninth at the Meet of Champions (1:37.38). She also ran on the ninth-place 4x800m relay team at Div. 2 states (10:51.28).
Maya Bergamesca, Pembroke
This senior finished 25th in the 55m hurdles at the New England championships (:9.16). She posted faster times in taking 10th at the Meet of Champions (:8.76) and placing fourth at Div. 3 states (:8.80). League champ in the event. Came in 23rd at the state heptathlon. Has a PR of 4 feet 9 inches in the high jump.
Kaitlyn Burke, Archbishop Williams
This sophomore finished ninth in the 55m hurdles at the Meet of Champions (:8.76). She also ran on the 4x400m relay that was seventh at New Englands (4:03.88) and fourth at the Meet of Champions (4:06.44). She was second in the 55m hurdles at Div. 3 states (:8.50). She was sixth at the MSTCA Pentathlon with a school-record 3,027 points.
Caitlyn Chang, Braintree
This senior was the Div. 4 state champ in the 55m hurdles (:8.49) and also ran on the winning 4x200m relay (1:46.80). She also was third in the long jump (17-4.75) at Div. 4 states. At the Meet of Champions she was seventh in the 55m hurdles (:8.63) and 12th in the long jump (17-2.5) and ran on the seventh-place 4x200m relay (1:47.57).
Liv Coperine, Duxbury
This sophomore starred at the Meet of Champions, placing seventh in the 300m (:41.21) and 12th in the 55m (:7.42). Ran on the 4x400m relay that was 10th at New Englands (4:05.17), eighth at the Meet of Champions and third at Div. 3 states. Ran a school-record :7.88 at the 60m at New Balance Nationals Indoor.
Isabella Galusha, Weymouth
Similar to past years with our Male and Female Athletes of the Year, readers will have a voice in who the players of the year are for this year under the new format. This year, however, the pool of elite players has been narrowed down even further, a challenge in and of itself. We limited each school to a maximum of one candidate.
Maddy McGillicuddy, North Quincy
This senior was ninth in the mile at the Meet of Champions (5:12.49) and ran on the fifth-place 4x800m relay (9:44.68). At Div. 1 states she was seventh in the mile (5:11.19) and ran on the fifth-place 4x800m relay (9:51.39). School record-holder in the 1,000m, 4x400m relay, 4x800m relay and sprint medley relay.
Macey Shriner, Plymouth North

Shaelyn Taylor, Notre Dame Academy
This junior was the Div. 4 state champ in the 55m (personal-best :7.42). She also was eighth in the 300m (:43.46) and 10th in the long jump (15-10.5). At the Meet of Champions she was 18th in the 300m (:43.23) and 25th in the 55m (:7.58). She’s the school record-holder in the 55m and 300m.
Lauren Thompson, Scituate
Senior was the Patriot League Keenan Division MVP. She won the 600m crown at the Meet of Champions (school-record 1:30.54) and was the Div. 2 state champ in the 1,000m (school-record 2:51.46). She also broke school records in the 300m (:40.23) and mile (4:58.17).
