Tammie Johnson at tjohnson@hickorync.gov or call the Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551.A second person faces charges after a New Year’s Day shooting that left a Brevard College football player seriously injured.The incident happened around 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, according to Hickory police. Officers were called to 2nd Street NW and Main Avenue NW, where they found 22-year-old Jordan Blake Ramey suffering from gunshot wounds.Trevino is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Police say he’s being held in the Catawba County Justice Center without bond.In a Jan. 2 news release, police said it appears the first suspect, Javier Hampton Trevino Jr., of Lenoir, was engaged in a separate incident with a different group when he opened fire, striking Ramey, who was not involved with either party. Trevino left the scene before officers arrived, according to police.Hickory police say 31-year-old Patsy Elaine Humphries, of Lenoir, was taken into custody on Jan. 2 and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.Ramey, a defensive lineman at Brevard College, was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. His family members told News 13 that he was out of surgery as of Jan. 2 and stabilized.
