LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI had seven Keydets from three different teams – VMI Lacrosse, Water Polo, and Wrestling – land on the College Sports Communications Academic All-District list for At-Large programs as announced on Tuesday.
The 2025 Academic All-District At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nomination requirements include a sophomore or above academic standing and a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA.
In addition to the academic requirements, CSC requires athletic success for consideration. For lacrosse and water polo, eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution’s games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution’s games. For wrestling, eligible nominees must be in the lineup for at least 70 percent of team scoring events (open tournaments, duals) or compete in their weight class at a conference championship meet.
