Shawnee Mountain, located in Pennsylvania, is a favorite spot for those who love skiing and snowboarding in the Poconos. It remains family-owned and places emphasis on a family-friendly atmosphere. Moreover, it’s one of the early-opening ski resorts in Pennsylvania. This weekend marked the inaugural openings for many ski resorts in Pennsylvania for the 2024-25 season, with Shawnee being among them.
The resort celebrated opening day by giving out a complimentary lift ticket to the first 10 individuals in line at the lift this morning. Additionally, season pass holders were offered a special discount for the opening day. Shawnee kicked off the season with five accessible trails and anticipates the opening of two more tomorrow, contingent on the snowmaking capabilities today and tonight.

- 3rd & 4th Grade Pass: This unique program is available for all 3rd and 4th graders from any state and school. By purchasing an adult lift ticket, children in these grades can enjoy three complimentary days of skiing or snowboarding, valid midweek or after 3 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
- Lodging Packages: The historic Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort is offering convenient lodging options that include snow tubing, group lessons, or private lessons, streamlining the process for guests.
- Shawnee Mountain Renewable Energy Initiative: This initiative is centered around sustainability efforts via a forward-thinking wind energy agreement with ENGIE, enhancing energy-efficient snowmaking technology, and adopting eco-friendly practices throughout the resort.
- Special Discounts: Discounts are available for college students, active-duty military personnel, and seniors aged 65 to 69. Moreover, seniors 70 years and older can ski for free, as well as children under 46” tall. Shawnee Mountain is committed to ensuring that everyone can partake in the joy of winter sports.
- Free Parking: Shawnee Mountain continues its pledge to affordability by providing free parking for all visitors, removing hidden costs, and ensuring a seamless experience from the moment of arrival.
