Shelby Jensen Named America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week
With their sponsorship of the student-athlete of the week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
Jensen earned first-team All-American honors after placing seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on Saturday. Her time of 9:36.61 broke her own school record and eclipsed the automatic qualifying standard for the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships. The Westlake HS product secured the Aggies’ best-ever placement in the event and became Utah State’s first women’s All-American since Cierra Simmons-Mecham in 2018. With her seventh-place finish, Jensen earned two team points for the Aggies, clinching USU’s best team performance at the Outdoor Track and Field Championships since 2000. On Thursday, Jensen placed fifth in her semifinal heat and 10th overall with a then-record time of 9:38.01 to advance to Saturday’s final.
