Six from softball earn All-WIAC honors

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball team had six players recognized as All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) for the 2025 season on Tuesday. The Blugolds had three first team all-conference selections and three honorable mentions.
Paige Lathrop (Jr. – South Milwaukee, Wis.), Molly Marquardt (So. – Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) and Kenna Strunsee (Sr. – Waukesha, Wis./South) were named first team All-WIAC. Lathrop, an outfielder, has a team-high .448 batting average this season and ranks fourth on the squad with 26 RBI. She has 25 stolen bases from 28 attempts.
Marquardt, who plays third base, is hitting .405 this spring and has a school record 23 doubles this season. She also has a team-high seven home runs and 50 RBI. She is slugging .770 with a total of 31 extra-base hits.
Strunsee is hitting .420 and leads the team with 53 runs scored. She also has a team-high 33 steals and has not been caught stealing this season. She has the second-most doubles on the squad with eight.
Norah Kutnink (So. – Winneconne, Wis.), Jacie Schultz (Sr. – Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial) and Brooklyn Swanepoel (Fr. – New Richmond, Wis.) are honorable mention All-WIAC this season. Kutnink sports a .342 batting average with 14 RBI. Swanepoel is second on the team with a .446 batting average, and also has a team-high .531 on-base percentage. In the circle, Schultz is 12-4 with a 1.75 ERA and 51 strikeouts.
Emma Raikowski (Jr. – Stevens Point, Wis.) was named to the WIAC’s All-Sportsmanship team.
The Blugolds face Baldwin Wallace in the opening round of NCAA regionals on May 15 in Angola, Indiana. Game time is 1:30 p.m. Eastern.
