“It’s a La Nina winter, which typically means colder and more snow than usual. So, keep it coming,” said Anderson.
While they were looking forward to the rest of their day, Anderson was looking forward to the rest of the season.
At Greenwater Collective, a ski repair shop and gift store on the highway to Crystal Mountain, they were busy repairing skis and snowboards.
“I mean, gosh, when you look at the forecast and you see snow kind of every day, at least through the next week, that’s what skiers are looking for,” said Anderson. “That’s what gets us out of bed in the morning and gets us up on the mountain.”
The owner said the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is always a busy time, especially this year.
“We will probably take a couple runs, cook some steaks, hang out, you know?” said Wright.
“Right now, with the new snow and the good conditions too, that’s also bringing obviously a lot of people to the mountain,” said Tiana Anderson, the owner of Greenwater Collective.
GREENWATER, Wash. — With all the fresh snow in the mountains this week, skiers and snowboarders are flocking to local ski resorts to enjoy. On Friday, Crystal Mountain reported that they had seen more than two feet of snow fall in the past two days.
“A couple of feet would be cool,” said Conor Wright, who was headed up to Crystal Mountain. “I just got my new powder skis fitted, so I’m excited to try these out.”
“It was super foggy, but there was a bunch of powder, which was cool,” said Wright. “The last time we were there, it was like super icy and wet and kind of gross. So, it was nice to actually get some good snow.”
On Friday, Crystal Mountain reported it had seen more than two feet of snow in the past two days.
Her customers had high hopes as well for the incoming weather.
The fresh snow the past few days and expected snow headed into the new year is something Anderson is excited about.
He said the snow was so good Thursday, they were headed back Friday.
