It was double dominance for the South Lakes Seahawks at the Concorde District track-and-field championships. The girls and boys high-school teams each won the meets by wide margins, thanks to finishing first in multiple events at the Prince George’s County Learning Center in Landover, Md. The boys won with 151 points and the girls with 141. The Chantilly boys (86 points) and girls (96) were second. The standout individual for the South Lakes girls was triple-winner Caroline Elliott. The junior was first in the 500 meters (1:16.29), the 1,000 (2:54.82) and the 1,600 (4:59.64). Catalina Simon was another Seahawks’ runner who had a strong meet. She won the 3,200 (10:58.3) and was second in the 1,600 and 1,000. Ella Laban won the 55 hurdles (8.88) for South Lakes, and was third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump. Aya Ryan was second in the 500 and third in the 1,000. Collins Han was second in the 55 dash and fifth in the 300. Also for the Seahawks, Anna Dooley was fourth in the 55 hurdles and triple jump, fifth in the long jump and seventh in the 55 dash. Elizabeth Brabant was sixth in the 500 and 10th in the 300. Standout runners for the South Lakes boys were Finn Middleton and Blake Jackson. Middleton was first in the 55 hurdles (7.28) and 55 dash (6.46) and second in the 300. Jackson won the long jump (23-3 3/4)) and triple jump (44-6), was fourth in the 55 dash and eighth in the 300.
