Marcus Coker won the 300 (34.85), Jason Raffei was second in the 1,600 and third in the 1,000, Milo Wilkins was second in the shot put, Cliff Trapp was third in the 55 hurdles and Ryan Quinn was third in the 1,600 and seventh in the 1,000.
The girls and boys high-school teams each won the meets by wide margins, thanks to finishing first in multiple events at the Prince George’s County Learning Center in Landover, Md.
The standout individual for the South Lakes girls was triple-winner Caroline Elliott. The junior was first in the 500 meters (1:16.29), the 1,000 (2:54.82) and the 1,600 (4:59.64).
The South Lakes 4×400 relay of Walsh, Coker, Trapp and Aiden Bednarz won in 3:27.16. The 4×800 of Hood, Quinn, Noah Jacks and John Robinson was first in 8:11.61. The 4×200 was second.
The boys won with 151 points and the girls with 141. The Chantilly boys (86 points) and girls (96) were second.
The South Lakes girls 4×200 relay of Han, Dooley, Velasco and Lakeisha Meekins won in 1:47.76. The 4×800 was second and the 4×400 third.
Dave Facinoli grew up in Prince George’s County, Md. and attended Friendly High School. After attending Prince’s George Community College and James Madison University, where he covered sports on both college papers, he launched a local newspaper career that included roles as the sports editor of the Alexandria Gazette, the Arlington Sun Gazette and GazetteLeader, and other local papers.
Also for the Seahawks, Anna Dooley was fourth in the 55 hurdles and triple jump, fifth in the long jump and seventh in the 55 dash. Elizabeth Brabant was sixth in the 500 and 10th in the 300.
Sixth were Yudovsky (500) and Dylan Hall (shot). Hayato Tano, Lucas Mussen and Labeed Zaib were other top-10 finishers.
Jackson won the long jump (23-3 3/4)) and triple jump (44-6), was fourth in the 55 dash and eighth in the 300.
Ella Laban won the 55 hurdles (8.88) for South Lakes, and was third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump.
Standout runners for the South Lakes boys were Finn Middleton and Blake Jackson. Middleton was first in the 55 hurdles (7.28) and 55 dash (6.46) and second in the 300.
Fourth were Dylan Walsh (500), Grant Kutz (pole vault), Isaac Yudkovsky (1,000) and George Hood (1,600). Hood also was fifth in the 1,000.
Other top-10 finishers in various events were Aya Adams, Eleanor Hood, Juliana Aguirre-Martinez, Riley Anderson, Alessandra Twohie-Crowe and Melanie Velasco.
Aya Ryan was second in the 500 and third in the 1,000. Collins Han was second in the 55 dash and fifth in the 300.
Catalina Simon was another Seahawks’ runner who had a strong meet. She won the 3,200 (10:58.3) and was second in the 1,600 and 1,000.
