SPEARMAN, Texas (KFDA) – Spearman is one of 65 winners of the National Football Foundation (NFF) National High School Academic Excellence Awards.Copyright 2025 KFDA. All rights reserved.The Lynx were one of seven total high schools from Texas selected for the award.The award itself recognizes the leading academic football squads from every tier of play in each state, aiming to motivate and encourage a culture of academic achievement among high school football teams across the country.19 players from the Lynx football team and 16 students in the program ranging from trainers to videographers were selected to the Academic All-District list this past fall. Spearman football wrapped up the season with a 4-7 record, including a trip to the playoffs.
The Hatchell Cup, designated to recognize NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell, also includes a ,000 donation.65 total high schools across the country were selected and are now finalists for the Hatchell Cup, which is given to the leading individual high school football team in the country for outstanding performance in academics, athletics, and community service.
