Sport Retailer-Supported TV Series : DICK’s Sporting Goods
DICK’S Sporting Goods is expanding the content portfolio of its in-house production division, Cookie Jar & A Dream Studios, with a new television series. The program is titled ‘Play It Forward: Game On’ and it is an unscripted series scheduled to air on the popular national children’s network Nickelodeon.
The show’s format involves a team of hosts, including a sports analyst and social media personalities, collaborating with community members to execute surprise renovations and provide new equipment for youth sports teams facing resource constraints. The narrative of ‘Play It Forward: Game On’ is directly aligned with DICK’S Sporting Goods’ existing philanthropic initiative — known as the Sports Matter program — which focuses on supporting underfunded youth athletics.
