The Minister of Youth and Sports, Honourable Bakary Y. Badjie, is set to preside over the opening ceremony of the Confederation of African Volleyball’s (CAVB) International Referee Candidate Course (IRCC) for Beach Volleyball, a ceremony scheduled for today, September 1, at the Baobab Hotel.
Organized by CAVB, the course aims to enhance the technical capacity of African beach volleyball referees, bringing them up to international standards.
This training comes as The Gambia finalizes preparations to host the CAVB U18 Beach Volleyball Youth Development Cup. The competition, which will feature 12 countries and up to 40 young athletes from across Africa, will take place from September 2 to September 7, 2025, at Kasumai Beach.
